Lewis Hamilton takes sprint pole at Silverstone ahead of Kimi Antonelli

Lewis Hamilton recorded the fastest time in sprint qualifying at Silverstone on Friday, finishing 0.011 seconds ahead of Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. The Ferrari driver will start from pole for the 17-lap sprint race scheduled for 12pm BST on Saturday.

Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix nine times previously. He will attempt to convert the narrow margin into points in the drivers' championship before the full qualifying session later on Saturday.

Schedule The sprint race begins at 12pm BST on Saturday, followed by qualifying at 4pm. The main Grand Prix is set for 3pm BST on Sunday. Max Verstappen placed third in sprint qualifying after his second-place finish in Austria. George Russell will start behind his Mercedes teammate Antonelli in the sprint.

Ferrari showed competitive pace during Friday practice and qualifying sessions. The team will seek to maintain that form through the sprint and main qualifying.
