Libyan forces detained members of a land convoy attempting to deliver aid to Gaza at a checkpoint in Sirte. The convoy members were held by forces loyal to Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar. Activists from Europe and the United States released pre-recorded video appeals following the detentions.

Rights groups stated that the fighters have a record of arbitrary detention and torture. The detentions occurred on 26 May 2026.
