Logitech is introducing the new Rugged Combo 4c and 4c Touch keyboard cases that add a second USB-C port. The port accommodates accessories like wired mice, headphones and external drives while the tablet remains plugged into power. The new cases are compatible with the 10th and 11th-gen iPads.

They are specifically designed for use by schools and are generally only sold to educational institutions through authorized Logitech distributors. As with the original Combo 4 that debuted a couple of years ago, the older versions have found their way onto Amazon through some resellers. Those older Combo 4 versions are priced at around $140 to $150.

The Combo 4c’s updated design includes a spot to magnetically dock the Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil will be held securely when the case’s latch is in use, and the updated design allows the Apple Pencil to magnetically attach while the case’s latch keeps the stylus securely locked down during transport. The cases feature a spill-resistant fully sealed keyboard that’s easy to clean.

6 feet. The cases use the iPad’s Smart Connector so the keyboard doesn’t need a battery or charging. The 4c Touch adds a multitouch trackpad for scrolling and zooming, or using the iPad’s multitasking features.

The Verge reported that Logitech is introducing a new feature to its rugged iPad Combo 4 keyboard case that addresses an ongoing issue with the tablet as Apple continues to push it toward being a laptop alternative. The publication noted on May 8, 2026 at 3:26 PM UTC that the upgrades will benefit more than just students.
