Los Angeles Mayoral Poll Shows Bass at 26 Percent, Pratt at 22 Percent
A UC Berkeley and Los Angeles Times survey released Thursday placed Mayor Karen Bass at 26 percent support among likely voters. Spencer Pratt received 22 percent and Nithya Raman received 25 percent.
nypost.comA UC Berkeley and Los Angeles Times poll released Thursday showed Mayor Karen Bass leading with 26 percent support among likely voters in the Los Angeles mayoral race. Spencer Pratt stood at 22 percent and Nithya Raman at 25 percent. Veteran strategist Rick Taylor, who is not affiliated with any campaign, said internal tracking placed Bass near 32 percent, Pratt near 30 percent and Raman near 18 percent.
Taylor stated that digital-only surveys miss voters unwilling to complete lengthy online questionnaires.
Taylor said a properly conducted Los Angeles poll costs between $45,000 and $50,000 because repeated live phone calls are required. He described the Berkeley survey as an outlier that understates Pratt's support. Taylor added that every poll he has reviewed in the past two and a half weeks has placed Pratt in second place. He also noted that turnout stood at 7 percent citywide as of Thursday.
Taylor predicted that moderate voters, particularly on the Westside, could determine which candidates advance past the June 2 primary. He stated that the progressive voting bloc appears less energized than in recent cycles. Pratt posted on X that he would not rely on a UC Berkeley poll. The primary is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2.
