Lou Trivino is listed as Lou Trivino III on the Philadelphia Phillies official roster. Forbes reported the name update after the 34-year-old right-handed pitcher re-signed with the team on a new minor league deal. Trivino underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2023.
He signed a minor league deal with the Phillies in the 2025-2026 offseason, then opted out of that contract on May 1, 2026. He subsequently signed a major league deal with the Baltimore Orioles. With the Orioles, Trivino allowed six earned runs in three innings and was designated for assignment after less than one week on the roster.
He cleared waivers, elected free agency and returned to the Phillies. Through 2025, Trivino posted a 24-27 record with a 3.87 ERA across 229 relief appearances and three starts. He previously pitched for the Oakland Athletics from 2018 to 2022, the New York Yankees in 2022, and the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets in 2025.
