Alannah Keyser was removed from Season 8 of Love Island USA after a video from six years earlier resurfaced showing her using a racial slur. " Keyser posted an apology video on TikTok on Saturday. She stated that the video showed her singing along to the track and said she was sorry to anyone offended, noting the clip was from six years ago and that the word was no longer in her vocabulary.
Keyser added that some circulating screenshots had been falsified and stated she does not support racism or discrimination of any kind. Producers edited Keyser out of pre-taped episodes as much as possible after the video surfaced, according to an insider cited by nypost.com. Her scenes were trimmed but could not be removed entirely.
Keyser, a USC film school student, said the situation had been a learning lesson and that she did not get a chance to show her personality on the show. Vasana Montgomery, 25, was removed from the show ahead of filming last month after a similar video surfaced, nypost.com reported.
