Luke Littler Wins Fifth Premier League Darts Night and Returns to Table Top

World number one Luke Littler won his fifth night of the Premier League Darts season in Aberdeen, defeating Luke Humphries 6-5 in a high-quality final to return to the top of the table. The 19-year-old backed up his victory in Liverpool last week with another strong performance, climbing above Jonny Clayton.

Humphries reached his second final of the season and took Littler to a last-leg decider, the fourth between the pair in 13 weeks. In the final, Humphries broke in leg seven after Littler missed on bullseye, then held to move within one leg of his first night win of the year. Littler responded by claiming three legs on the spin, breaking in leg 10 to set up the decider.

He missed three match darts on double 10 but won with his fourth match dart. 10. In the quarter-finals of night 13, Littler defeated Josh Rock 6-3, Gerwyn Price beat Stephen Bunting 6-5, Gian van Veen won 6-2 against Jonny Clayton, and Humphries triumphed 6-3 over Michael van Gerwen.

Littler advanced with a 6-1 semi-final win over Price, while Humphries beat van Veen 6-3 in the other semi-final. uk reported that Littler is now one night win away from matching his record-breaking tally of six from last year. Premier League Darts features eight players and is played across 16 initial weeks in the league stage, with quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final each night.

Each player faces the other seven in quarter-finals during weeks one to seven and nine to 15, while week eight and week 16 fixtures are based on the table. Players earn two points per quarter-final win, an additional point for a semi-final victory, and five points for winning the night.

The top four after the group stage advance to the play-off night, where semi-finals are best-of-19 legs and the final is best of 21 legs.

If players are level on points after 16 weeks, positions are decided by nights won, then by matches won. Humphries and Littler are the past two winners of the Premier League. Week 14 is scheduled for Thursday, 7 May at First Direct Arena in Leeds.

The fourth versus fifth players will compete in Sheffield on the final league-stage night. uk.
