Lyndsey Fifield detailed two alleged incidents of physical abuse by Graham Platner. She also responded to comments by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse questioning her account.
New York PostLyndsey Fifield publicly accused Graham Platner of physical abuse during their relationship from roughly 2013 to 2015, the New York Post reported. She alleged that Platner once yanked her out of a cab and on another occasion twisted her arm behind her back and locked her in a room. Platner denied all accusations of physical abuse.
Her claims appeared in a New York Times story about his past relationships. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse stated on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper on Wednesday that the first accusation lacked corroboration.
He also said Fifield had been involved in a Koch-funded political operation and Maine political activities against Platner. Fifield posted on X that Whitehouse rushed to condemn her without getting the facts right in June. She wrote that he had over a month to reflect but chose to double down instead.
Fifield stated she has never taken money from AIPAC or Koch. She noted that her LinkedIn shows she has not worked in politics since early 2023, when she served as digital marketing director for Nikki Haley. She added that after a miscarriage she chose to prioritize her family.
Platner dropped out of the Maine Senate race earlier this month after facing separate rape accusations. Fifield co-founded the group Ladies for Kavanaugh in 2018.
