Maccabi Tel Aviv Wins Israel Super Cup 3-1 Over Hapoel Beersheba

Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Hapoel Beersheba 3-1 to win the Israel Super Cup at Turner Stadium on July 19, 2026. The result opened the 2026/27 season. Sayed Abu Farhi scored twice for Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dor Peretz added one goal. Kings Kangwa scored the lone goal for Hapoel Beersheba.

Farhi opened the scoring in the 10th minute.

Kangwa equalized five minutes later, and the teams went into halftime tied 1-1. Peretz restored the lead in the 57th minute. Roy Revivo received a red card in the 65th minute, leaving Maccabi with ten players. Abu Farhi scored again in the 72nd minute to seal the win.

Chairman Erez Kalfon presented the trophy alongside supporter Eldad Maman. Maman, 36, was wounded in June 2026 while serving in the IDF Reserves in southern Lebanon. Kalfon said the victory showed the best face of Israeli football. Head coach Kenny Miller noted the importance of starting the season with a win after also capturing the State Cup.

Hapoel Beersheba coach Ron Kozuk said the team must improve before Champions League qualifiers. Abu Farhi said the team played through the red card and remains focused on the league title. Ofir Davdizada said Hapoel Beersheba needed to review errors ahead of its next match.
