A magnitude 3.2 earthquake occurred Sunday at 10:53 a.m. 26 miles from Arvin, California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was also recorded 26 miles from Castaic and Bakersfield, 27 miles from Bear Valley Springs and Fillmore, and reached a depth of 7.6 miles.
The event marked the second quake reported in the region that day. A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck at 3:38 a.m. with its epicenter about one mile southeast of Frazier Park at a depth of 8.2 miles. That quake was felt 25 miles from Arvin, 26 miles from Bakersfield, Bear Valley Springs and Castaic, 28 miles from Fillmore, and 70 miles north of Los Angeles.
No immediate reports of injuries or damage emerged from either event. The Sunday quakes came less than three weeks after a magnitude 5.6 earthquake near Redwood Valley in Mendocino County.
