A Maine Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate withdrew from an appearance on MS NOW after reports surfaced that he sent explicit messages to at least six women while married. MS NOW host Eugene Daniels stated on his program Sunday that the candidate's team had initially requested the interview and later canceled it.

Daniels said the withdrawal followed the release of the messages and the candidate's wife's video response.

The candidate's wife released a five-minute video in which she described the couple's recent marriage and fertility challenges. She said some media outlets were focusing on personal matters instead of policy issues such as healthcare and education. Daniels noted that the wife had shared the messages with the campaign herself. He questioned whether voters knew the candidate's full background.

A campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital that no interview had ever been scheduled and described Daniels' account as inaccurate. The spokesperson said the candidate was occupied with campaign events. The candidate has previously faced other controversies, including a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol and past online comments about sexual assault and a wounded soldier.
