A poll conducted June 1-3 showed Sen. Susan Collins and Democratic candidate Graham Platner tied at 46 percent support among 800 likely Maine voters. The remaining 8 percent were undecided. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
The poll by Fabrizio, Lee & Associates was commissioned by the pro-Collins Pine Tree Results PAC. It found that 49 percent of respondents held an unfavorable view of Platner, up from 29 percent in January. Platner’s favorable rating stood at 40 percent.
A source for that article later said the newspaper removed several accusations, including one of sexual assault. Collins marked her 10,000th consecutive Senate vote on June 4, a streak that began in January 1997.
