Maine Senate Poll Shows Collins Trails Platner by Two Points
A Wick and 2WAY survey conducted June 11-14 found Democrat Graham Platner leading Republican Senator Susan Collins 47.6 percent to 45.4 percent. The result falls within the poll's 3.1-point margin of error.

Other surveys conducted in early June also showed narrow leads for Platner. A Quantus Insights poll of 870 likely voters from June 9-11 found Platner at 46 percent and Collins at 45 percent. A Tavern Research poll of 1,642 likely voters from June 5-8 showed Platner ahead 51 percent to 49 percent.
A Public Policy Polling survey of 670 registered voters from June 2-3 recorded Platner at 49 percent and Collins at 45 percent. An earlier Quantus Insights poll from March 5 had shown Platner leading by seven points. A Pan Atlantic Research poll conducted May 8-18 showed Platner ahead 48 percent to 41 percent.
Platner has faced scrutiny over past statements and personal conduct. Reports detailed resurfaced Reddit posts, a tattoo resembling a Nazi SS symbol, and allegations regarding behavior in prior relationships. Platner won the Democratic primary earlier in June with 71.9 percent of the vote, the highest total for any Democratic Senate candidate in Maine history, according to the Associated Press.
Collins has won five previous Senate elections in the state.
