Malaysia Immigration Clears 266 at The Network School but Says Checks Continue

Malaysia’s Immigration Department said on Wednesday that it had inspected 266 foreigners from 40 countries at The Network School and found they held valid travel documents. The department made the statement one day after announcing a probe into social media allegations that the community included participants from Israel who entered Malaysia using passports from other countries.

Muslim-majority Malaysia bars entry to Israeli passport holders because the two countries lack diplomatic relations, though it has no specific laws against Israelis traveling on second-country passports.

Director-General Zakaria Shaaban said the department will conduct further investigations into any matters that raise suspicions or if new information emerges regarding misuse of identity, travel documents, immigration facilities or violations of permit conditions.

Additional checks are ongoing to ensure compliance with all other entry requirements and related laws.
