nypost.comA 17,600-square-foot Manhattan townhouse at 45 East 78th Street was listed for sale on Friday for $35 million, according to StreetEasy. The Wall Street Journal first reported the listing. The residence had been owned by the late art dealer Robert Mnuchin, who died in 2025, and his second wife, Adriana Mnuchin. The couple purchased the 15-room property in 1983 and lived there for about 12 years.
The six-story building is more than 33 feet wide and includes an elevator, nine bedrooms, and a 1,335-square-foot roof terrace. A sculptural staircase connects the levels, and the parlor floor has two formal entertaining spaces, each with a fireplace.
Robert Mnuchin used part of the house as an art gallery that later became known as the Mnuchin Gallery. The family spent a year and a half renovating the property before moving in. The couple left the residence in the mid-1990s after their art collection, which included works by Mark Rothko, outgrew their previous co-op.
” The listing is handled by Adam Modlin and Andrew Nierenberg of the Modlin Group.
