Paak were photographed holding hands as they arrived at a screening of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles on Thursday evening. The pair first drew public attention after a dinner together in Aspen, Colorado, in December 2024. At that time, eyewitnesses reported they arrived together but left the restaurant separately.
An insider told reporters the two were collaborating on new music in Carey’s Aspen studio rather than dating. Carey, 57, wore a black dress with platform heels, a blazer, a lariat-style belt and a glittering necklace. Paak, 40, wore a black suit with sparkling pinstripes, an open collar shirt, round sunglasses and a necklace.
Representatives for the singer and the rapper did not immediately return requests for comment on Friday. Paak, “He just likes to hold my hand. ” Carey was previously married to music executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998.
She has also been linked to Derek Jeter, Eminem, Luis Miguel, James Packer, Bryan Tanaka and Eric Benet. Paak was previously married to Jae Lin, with whom he shares two children. The couple parted ways in 2024.
He was also reported to have drawn romantic speculation with Jeannie Mai in recent months.
