Mark Littlewood of Popular Conservatism told GB News that new figures show the proportion of White British births falling. He attributed the shift to differences in average family size across cultural groups. Littlewood said British families have historically had smaller numbers of children while some other groups have had larger families.

He described the combination of these patterns as creating conditions that could increase social division. "Culturally, Brits have not tended to have particularly large families, whereas some of these other groups have tended in that direction," Littlewood said. " Littlewood added that the current trajectory could lead to a more divided rather than a more united society.

The comments were made during a GB News interview on 27 May 2026.
