Masayoshi Son regained the title of Japan’s richest person after a four-year gap, with his net worth reaching a record $80 billion, Forbes reported. 4 billion in 2021. SoftBank Group’s shares more than tripled during the period, driving the rise in Son’s wealth.

SoftBank said its multibillion-dollar investments in OpenAI are financed by loans and the sale of holdings in Nvidia and T-Mobile. The company plans to scale those investments to $65 billion by October, securing a 13% stake. ” In May, SoftBank announced a €75 billion investment in France to develop and operate AI data centers with a total capacity of 5 gigawatts.
