The Dallas Mavericks matched the New York Knicks' two-year, $4.7 million offer sheet for restricted free agent center Moussa Cisse on July 18 before the 48-hour Monday night deadline. Cisse will earn $2,185,116 in the 2026-27 season and $2,571,895 in 2027-28.
His tax and apron hit for the first season stands at $2,449,421. m. on October 1, 2026, after which the balance becomes fully guaranteed. Because the offer sheet was matched, Cisse cannot be traded without his consent for one year and cannot be dealt to the Knicks during that period.
The 6-foot-11 center turns 24 in September. He went undrafted out of Memphis in 2025, signed a two-way contract with Dallas before the 2025-26 season, and received a qualifying offer this offseason that made him a restricted free agent. Cisse appeared in 38 games as a rookie last season, averaging 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 13.9 minutes per game.
The Knicks pursued him after losing center Mitchell Robinson in free agency. Dallas now holds 16 players on standard contracts and 15 guaranteed deals.
