Maxx Crosby Limited to Jogging and Stretching in OTAs as He Recovers from Knee Surgery
The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end has completed jogging and stretching sessions during OTA practices but has not yet participated in drills. Crosby said he is close to returning after surgery in January.
ESPNMaxx Crosby jogged and stretched with Las Vegas Raiders teammates during organized team activities on Wednesday before entering the training facility for continued rehab from knee surgery. The five-time Pro Bowler has not yet worn a helmet or taken part in practice drills. He said he is close to returning.
"I'm at the point where I'm almost there, but I forget that I need to relax a little bit, so that's kind of been the biggest battle right now," Crosby said. Crosby underwent surgery in January to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He had played through the injury since Week 7 of the previous season before the Raiders placed him on injured reserve on Dec.
17. He described the recovery as the longest of his career yet also the most productive. "But it has probably been the best [rehab] by far, and we're not even to the finish line," Crosby said.
"It's been better because I've been able to focus on other things. Whether that's being in the weight room, like I'm moving more weight than I ever have, and doing things in a different way, and being able to get my body the proper rest that it actually needs. " Crosby said he has moved past the March trade agreement with the Baltimore Ravens that collapsed over concerns about his knee.
"I don't really want to talk about that, to be honest," he said.
