MetLife Stadium to Serve Ripper Hot Dog at World Cup
The venue will offer a pineapple-topped fried hot dog based on a New Jersey classic during the eight matches scheduled at the stadium.

MetLife Stadium will serve a Ripper Hot Dog consisting of a fried hot dog that rips open, topped with pineapple salsa, ketchup mayo, diced pineapple, and potato sticks, along with homemade kettle chips. The dish is based on a New Jersey classic first invented at Rutt’s Hut in Clifton.
Delaware North executive chef Michael Butler stated on Wednesday during a media preview that the venue wants to serve New York/New Jersey food with its own spin.
The Ripper Hot Dog is part of a World Cup program in which each stadium features a custom signature dish based on the host city’s culture and flavors, exclusive to that venue. Fans attending the World Cup at MetLife Stadium will be able to purchase the Ripper Hot Dog for the duration of the tournament.
Other menu items previewed include a street corn lobster roll with cilantro, lime and Tajín, a second lobster roll, a Mexican shrimp cocktail, and freshly shucked oysters.
The price of the Ripper Hot Dog was not disclosed. The World Cup matches at MetLife Stadium begin Saturday with a group-stage match between Morocco and Brazil. Eight matches in total will take place at MetLife Stadium during the World Cup.
