A video posted online shows a woman identified as Rhonda Lee stating she intends to drive to an unspecified location with a knife and harm the president. The footage was shared Sunday by Right Angle News Network. Lee, whose LinkedIn profile lists employment at University of Michigan Medical Center from March 2000 until 2023, said in the video that she is not normally a violent person but described plans involving a neck knife.

She also stated her profession makes the comments counterintuitive.

Investigation status The United States Secret Service said it monitors information streams and investigates all potential threats thoroughly. A spokesperson added that due to the sensitive nature of the work, the agency cannot confirm or comment on specific cases.

Michigan Medicine senior director of public relations Mary Masson stated Lee has not worked at the institution since 2023. Masson said the organization is cooperating with law enforcement by providing any helpful information.

Online reaction Viewers commenting on the video expressed concern about allowing someone who posted such statements to provide patient care. Some commenters questioned whether individuals in nursing or teaching roles should express such views publicly.

Fox News Digital reported that other nurses have posted similar statements on social media in recent weeks. One post from a Florida nurse called for foreign governments to act against the United States. A California nurse posted disappointment that the president survived an April shooting.

A White House spokesperson said anyone who engages in or endorses political violence or assassination culture must be condemned in the harshest terms possible. Fox News Digital has not received a response from Lee.
