The Verge reported that Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn who took an expanded role as head of Office last year, will lead a new Work Experiences Group. The Microsoft Teams organization will report to Roslansky.
Rajesh Jha, executive vice president of Microsoft’s experiences and devices group, announced his retirement in March after more than 35 years. He was responsible for the teams behind Windows, Office, Copilot, and Microsoft 365. Charles Lamanna will lead the Copilot, Agents, and Platform team that includes critical Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 services and BizChat.
The Microsoft 365 Core team, OneDrive and SharePoint, and Data Platform and Growth are joining Lamanna’s team. Jeff Teper will be executive vice president of apps and agents and report to Lamanna. Kirk Koenigsbauer, president of Data Platform and Growth, will also report to Lamanna.
Pavan Davuluri will continue leading the Windows and Devices Group. The Intentional team that Microsoft acquired in 2017 is moving under Davuluri. Charles Simonyi founded Intentional Software in 2002 and spent more than 20 years at Microsoft overseeing the creation of Excel and Word.
Perry Clarke is now CTO of Application Systems after spending nearly a decade running Microsoft 365 Core. Clarke’s new role “will focus on the overall systems architecture across M365 and Copilot, and how that composes efficiently with model families, Azure cloud, and silicon,” according to a memo from Jha.
Lamanna, Davuluri, Clarke, and Roslansky will all start reporting directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on June 30.
