nypost.comMikayla Matthews of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" posted comments on Instagram addressing her ongoing differences with co-star Taylor Frankie Paul. Matthews wrote that she could probably write a book on everything she has had to say on the matter.
She added that nothing she said denied that Paul has experienced pain, trauma or difficult things. "Two things can be true. Someone can be hurting and still hurt people around them in the process," Matthews stated in the comments section of a fan post.
"My statement was never about wanting her to fail, suffer, or be canceled. " Matthews doubled down on her initial statement that she cannot support Paul's self-destructive pattern. She wrote that Paul is knowingly staying in a harmful cycle despite the consequences to herself and the people around her.
Matthews added that one cannot repeatedly make things public and then act shocked when people respond publicly. In an Instagram Story, Matthews said she definitely got out of hand with her commenting but continued to defend her position. ' I genuinely want to see everyone healed and happy, including myself," she stated.
She added that she will not quietly accept loud disrespect, manipulation or fear tactics used to intimidate any woman who sets boundaries. com) Matthews also noted that social media can be so dangerous and said she will be blocking anyone who is not serving her end goal.
She alluded to blocking Paul on Instagram. The comments came after Paul posted on Mother's Day responding to Matthews' initial statement. Paul wrote that she still has friends kicking her while she is already down and calling it setting a boundary. She described Matthews as a snake friend and said the lack of empathy and silence was loud enough.
Paul admitted she was spiraling over the situation and called Matthews an enemy.
The two women shared a close friendship on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" but became estranged once Paul's domestic violence investigation halted production of Season 5. In March, Paul temporarily lost custody of her 2-year-old son, Ever, amid mutual allegations of abuse between her and the child's father, Dakota Mortensen.
The exes received mutual protective orders from a Utah judge. Production of the Hulu show initially stopped amid the investigation. Multiple sources told TMZ that the cast expects production to resume in a matter of weeks with Paul participating. ABC pulled the plug on Paul's planned season of "The Bachelorette" with no current plans for it to air.
