The injury occurred shortly after he expressed excitement about the possibility of playing in the All-Star game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. "It feels awesome," Trout said of his season so far. " Bob Nightengale reported that Trout and his family of four are comfortable in Southern California, that Trout is not asking for a trade, and that Angels owner Arte Moreno has no interest in trading him.
Nightengale also reported that $140 million remains on Trout's contract after this season, which has deterred other teams from pursuing a deal. Trout grew up in southern New Jersey, though Nightengale reported he is not seeking a trade and remains under contract with the Angels.
Trout played for the Angels against the Colorado Rockies at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on June 2, 2026. He is an 11-time All-Star who has dealt with multiple injury setbacks in recent seasons.
