Milan prosecutors opened an investigation into a group of tram drivers who allegedly shared and commented on CCTV images of female passengers in a WhatsApp group.
Prosecutors placed at least one employee of ATM, the city's public transport operator, under investigation on Tuesday for allegedly accessing an IT system without authorization and hacking a CCTV system. Drivers linked to the WhatsApp group have been suspended from their positions while the probe continues.
The investigation focuses on the unauthorized access to images and the nature of comments exchanged within the group.
