Misfits Boxing Event in Manchester Draws Nearly 20,000 Spectators
Nearly 20,000 spectators attended a Misfits boxing card in Manchester on Saturday night that featured Tommy Fury against Eddie Hall and several influencer bouts.
The IndependentNearly 20,000 spectators attended a Misfits boxing event held on a Saturday night in Manchester. The card included a fight between Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall, whose chest measures 80 inches. Fury used his professional boxing experience to defeat Hall.
The contest was described as rudimentary but sufficient for Fury to prevail. Big Stacks, also known as Charlie Roberts and the self-proclaimed “Hardest Man in Britain”, fought Armz Korleone. Their scheduled bout was altered after McCann slapped Stacks at the press conference, causing a cut that required stitches.
Doctors initially ruled the fight off, but the pair agreed to strike only to the body. The four-round contest ended when Stacks, who said he had been out all night, conserved energy in the fourth round. A rematch between the two is scheduled.
Jordan McCann faced Jack Kay, known as the Ibiza Final Boss for his viral videos and distinctive haircut. McCann threatened violence in the buildup but was struck early, causing his body to stiffen. He continued for four rounds and lost by decision.
Kay received the judges’ nod. In a separate bout, Anthony Taylor dropped to his knees and claimed a substance had been rubbed into his eyes. He then attempted to rugby tackle about ten men at ringside.
The Independent reported that chaotic finishes are not uncommon at Misfits events and that Taylor has delivered similar incidents before. Misfits boxing began in 2022 with KSI among its founding members. The same weekend, the Haringey Box Cup was held in London.
The Independent reported that all four participants in the Stacks-Korleone and McCann-Kay bouts would have struggled to win at that amateur tournament. The Independent described the Manchester card as crude and ugly in parts yet addictive to its audience.
