Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million contract with the Boston Celtics that includes a player option in the third season, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. Robinson spent eight seasons with the Knicks after being drafted by the team. He averaged 7.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in under 24 minutes per game during that span.
Robinson played in 60 games this past season, his highest total since the 2022-23 season. He averaged 4.2 offensive rebounds per game during the regular season, ranking second in the NBA. In the playoffs, Robinson averaged 4.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 13.9 minutes per game while recovering from a broken right pinkie finger sustained between the Eastern Conference finals and NBA Finals.
Robinson was one of two rotation players originally drafted by New York who contributed significantly to the Knicks' first championship in 53 years.
