MLB teams receive midseason grades after 90 games

Major League Baseball teams reached the 90-game mark of the 2026 season, prompting midseason performance grades from ESPN.

Central leaders The team in first place in the AL Central earned an A+ after three straight 100-loss seasons. The club leads its division and features three players with at least 20 home runs despite one key contributor missing games since late May.

The team atop the NL Central also received an A+. Its starting pitcher recorded 613 of the league's 948 pitches thrown at 100 mph or faster and posted a 1.47 ERA with 156 strikeouts.

East standouts The team on pace for 105 wins in the NL West received an A. Injuries to several regulars forced reliance on breakout performances from other players. The AL East club earned an A after its young power hitter reached 26 home runs following a stretch of 11 homers in 11 games.

NL East division leader The team leading the NL East received an A-.

Its division lead shrank from 9½ games to three games after a 9-14 June record and a league-worst .599 OPS for the month.
