Morgan Wallen pushed over a piano that had malfunctioned during his song “Sand in My Boots” at his concert Saturday at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado. After singing the song without accompaniment, he turned and shoved the instrument until it crashed onto the stage and broke apart while the audience screamed and cheered. Wallen, 33, did not address the incident onstage.

He also did not immediately return The Independent’s request for comment. Video of the moment circulated on social media, prompting criticism from some viewers. One person wrote on X that “Morgan Wallen is the real problem.

Another post on Threads stated, “This is so unnecessary and unprofessional. ” A third comment on Threads read, “Why’s he so emotional? ” Several users linked the episode to prior controversies involving Wallen.

One post on X said, “I only know that this guy exists bc of Hayley Williams,” referencing the Paramore singer who has publicly criticized Wallen. Another added, “What a petulant little baby. Anyone listening or supporting him in this day and age is willfully ignorant.

’” Wallen was briefly suspended from his record label in 2021 after a video emerged of him yelling the n-word. A week later he posted a five-minute apology video in which he said he was on “hour 72 of a 72-hour bender” when the video was taken. In 2024 he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment after throwing a chair off a six-story rooftop bar and was sentenced to seven days at a DUI education center and two years of probation.
