MSG Entertainment and James Dolan have not issued a public statement on the breach. Since 2022, MSG has used facial recognition technology to identify and eject lawyers from firms suing the company. A New York appeals court upheld the company’s right as a private business to bar such lawyers from sporting events.
New York civil rights laws impose $500-per-violation penalties when MSG refuses entry to valid ticket holders at theatrical performances and concerts. New York Attorney General Letitia James has conducted formal investigations into the facial-recognition practices.
