Musk Says Starlink Solar Capacity Growth Will Continue

Elon Musk responded on X to a post about Starlink's orbital solar capacity, writing that the trend will continue for many years. The post stated that SpaceX increased deployed solar capacity from roughly 10 megawatts on about 3,000 first-generation satellites to around 100 megawatts on 7,000 second-generation satellites.

Starlink satellites carry solar arrays that generate power while in orbit. As the constellation grows, demand rises for space-grade solar cells that are lightweight, efficient, and resistant to radiation. 5 billion annual market that remains concentrated among a small number of suppliers.
