Namibian President Visits Chinese Nuclear Firm During State Trip with Private Business Delegation
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah visited the China General Nuclear Power Corporation in Shenzhen on July 7 during her state visit. The accompanying business delegation of more than 200 members covered its own costs, the presidency stated.

President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah toured the China General Nuclear Power Corporation in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, on July 7 as part of her state visit to China. She was accompanied by the First Gentleman and members of the Namibian delegation and received a briefing on the corporation’s operations and clean energy role.
AllAfrica reported that the Namibian Presidency stated on Monday the business delegation of over 200 members was not funded by taxpayers. The delegation was coordinated by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board through an open expression of interest process.
Participating businesses applied to join the mission held alongside the state visit and arranged their own travel and participation.
The group is in China during the week of July 7 to explore commercial opportunities, establish partnerships, identify suppliers, attract investment, and secure export markets for Namibian products and services. The Presidency said the turnout shows private sector confidence in opportunities in the world’s second-largest economy and noted that such missions follow common international practice to promote trade and investment.
