NASCAR driver Kyle Busch died Thursday at age 41 after becoming unresponsive during a simulator session at a General Motors facility in Concord, North Carolina. A 911 call placed late Wednesday afternoon from the training complex reported that Busch was experiencing shortness of breath, felt overheated, and was coughing up blood.

The caller stated Busch was lying on the bathroom floor but remained awake and asked responders to approach without sirens.

He had been scheduled to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Eleven days before his death, Busch finished eighth in a Cup Series race at Watkins Glen after requesting medical attention over the radio for symptoms related to a sinus cold.

President Trump posted on Truth Social that Busch was "a true talent who loved NASCAR and its fans" and offered condolences to Busch's wife and children. " Richard Childress Racing stated Busch recorded 63 NASCAR Cup Series wins and held the record for 19 consecutive seasons with at least one victory from 2004 to 2023.
