Nationals Edge Marlins 3-2 as Griffin Strikes Out Nine in Miami

PJ Poulin relieved Brad Lord and walked pinch-hitter Heriberto Hernández.

Poulin then retired Leo Jimenez for his second career save and first save of the season. Robby Snelling gave up three runs and six hits over five innings in his major league debut. Snelling (0-1) walked four and struck out two.

The Marlins are 2-6 on their 10-game homestand. The 23-year-old Snelling was acquired by the Miami Marlins from San Diego for reliever Tanner Scott in July 2024. After the 2024 trade, Snelling became the Marlins’ second-rated pitching prospect before his promotion from Triple-A Jacksonville.
