thehindu.comNature opened its 2026 Science Job Satisfaction Survey on 29 May. The 15-minute questionnaire will remain open until 26 June and is open to researchers worldwide. The survey is conducted in partnership with Thinks Insight & Strategy, a London-based research consultancy.
Questions address salaries and benefits, workplace culture, experiences of discrimination and harassment, attitudes toward artificial intelligence, and perceptions of public trust in science.
Powell, an editor for Nature's careers team, said researchers are currently asking themselves whether their careers are sustainable and whether they still see a future in science. The survey aims to measure how widespread those sentiments are across the global research workforce. Nature stated that the results will help identify factors steering career directions for working scientists.
