NBA Declines to Discipline Bam Adebayo After Striking Tyler Herro at Las Vegas Gym

The NBA will not punish Bam Adebayo for striking Tyler Herro during a physical altercation at a Las Vegas gym last Friday, a league spokesperson told ESPN's Shams Charania on Thursday. "After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league," the spokesperson said.

Tyler Herro, who was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo, told ESPN he also wanted to move past the incident.

"Honestly, I'm just trying to move past all of it," Herro said. " Sources with knowledge of the encounter said Adebayo confronted Herro at the Resorts World Hotel about social media comments questioning whether the center justified his $60 million salary. The exchange turned physical when Herro responded verbally in a manner Adebayo found objectionable.

Adebayo struck Herro near the chin, though Herro was not knocked to the ground and was restrained by others present. Herro played in 33 games during the 2025-26 season because of injuries and averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He was named an All-Star in 2024-25, when he averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds in 77 games.
