The NBA will not punish Bam Adebayo for striking Tyler Herro during an altercation at the Resorts World Hotel gym in Las Vegas last Friday. A league spokesperson told The Athletic and ESPN on Thursday that no further action will be taken. "After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league," the spokesperson said.
Adebayo confronted Herro over comments from a social media account allegedly linked to Herro that questioned whether Adebayo justified his $60 million salary. Adebayo struck Herro near the chin. Herro did not fall and was restrained by others present.
Tyler Herro told ESPN earlier this week that he wanted to move on. "Honestly, I'm just trying to move past all of it," Herro said. " Herro was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
He appeared in 33 games during the 2025-26 season, averaging 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Adebayo, a three-time All-Star, averaged 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals last season.
