NBA Free Agents Include Reaves, Duren, Robinson This Offseason

The 2026 NBA free agent class lacks the star power of past summers such as 2010, 2016 and 2019. Trade market activity is expected to dominate, yet several restricted and unrestricted free agents still carry notable storylines. Austin Reaves, Jalen Duren and Mitchell Robinson headline the group. League sources outlined projected contract ranges and team intentions for each player.

Dosunmu became an unrestricted free agent after a midseason trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Sources said the Timberwolves plan to re-sign him above the midlevel exception, near $15 million annually. Jalen Duren, a restricted free agent with the Detroit Pistons, posted career highs and earned All-Star and All-NBA honors.

An East executive told ESPN that Duren could receive an offer sheet near $40 million per year that Detroit would likely match. Walker Kessler, also restricted, is projected by an East scout to sign with the Utah Jazz in the $25 million to $30 million range.

Reaves remains an unrestricted free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers. Multiple scouts and executives told ESPN they expect a five-year deal near $200 million, short of his five-year maximum of $239 million. The Brooklyn Nets hold enough salary cap space to pursue a max-level offer for Reaves, sources said.

Peyton Watson, a restricted free agent with the Denver Nuggets, drew interest from other teams, though Denver retains the right to match any offer sheet. Mitchell Robinson's status with the New York Knicks was listed among the offseason decisions still to be resolved.
