In a segment aired later that night, Tsirkin stated that she and the crew heard “20 to 30” gunshots. She said a Secret Service agent emerged from a security booth with weapons drawn and directed the small group of journalists to run inside the press briefing room. Tsirkin later posted on X that she understood the online reaction and thanked viewers for the memes.
