Neco Williams played every minute of Wales' 1-1 friendly draw against Ghana at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday. The 25-year-old defender delivered the cross for substitute Lewis Koumas to score the injury-time equaliser, Koumas' first goal for Wales. Williams is now scheduled to start his 63rd match of the season if selected for Wales' friendly against Romania in Bucharest on Saturday.

He appeared in 53 games for Nottingham Forest last season as the club stayed in the Premier League and reached the Europa League semi-finals. Forest named Williams their player of the season and have opened contract-extension talks with the Wrexham-born defender. "It is tiring, but this is what we get paid to do and we enjoy it as well, so I'm happy with that," Williams said.

"As a footballer you want to play as many games as possible. " Williams said he plans to take a short holiday immediately after the Romania match. "I'll be going straight on holiday, having a few cocktails and putting my feet up on the beach," he said.

He welcomed Koumas' goal, noting the Liverpool forward had spent the season on loan at Hull City. "He's been waiting for that moment for a while now. I'm glad he's got it. I'm glad I assisted it," Williams said.

Wales created several scoring chances against Ghana but managed only the late equaliser. "We had a few chances and on another night we score more goals," Williams said.
