Netanyahu Says IDF Thwarted Thousands of Drone Attacks Over Six Years

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the cabinet on Sunday that the IDF has been addressing drone threats for six years. He said the military and Defense Ministry had thwarted many hundreds, if not thousands, of attempted drone and UAV strikes against Israeli forces.

Netanyahu stated that the IDF has neutralized new threats as they emerged. He noted that canopies had been installed on tanks at his request as one protective measure.

Netanyahu announced the creation of a new team to counter Fiber-Optic and First-Person View drones used by Hezbollah. The team includes personnel from the Defense Ministry, defense industries, and the civilian sector. He said the team has an unlimited budget and met with its members three times in the past two weeks. Netanyahu told the group they had no limits on creativity or imagination.

Netanyahu said Israel is very close to killing everyone involved in planning the October 7 massacre. He stated that Hamas is in Israel's grip and noted the elimination of Hamas leader Izz ad-Din al-Haddad over the weekend. Netanyahu added that Israel has recovered all hostages held in Gaza.
