TechcrunchNetflix plans to launch its redesigned mobile app in South Korea and Japan in July, with additional Asia-Pacific markets to follow. The company rolled out the updated experience earlier this year in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, and Malaysia. It outlined the expansion during its recent APAC Product Innovation Showcase.
A key part of the redesign is the “Clips” vertical video feed. The feed lets users browse short clips from Netflix titles for quick viewing. Netflix also plans to test themed Clip collections organized around moods, genres, and interests.
Netflix is expanding Netflix Playground, its gaming hub for children. The latest addition will focus on “KPop Demon Hunters,” the animated musical that generated more than 518 million views in its first six months. The new experience will launch with six mini-games.
U.K. The company continues to broaden the reach of its redesigned mobile app across the region.
