Next250 is planning a communal festival in Washington, DC, on Saturday that will include an indigenous opening ceremony, a march starting at what was once called Black Lives Matter Plaza, and voter registration booths, Cnn reported. Donald Trump announced plans for 2026 celebrations in a December 2025 Truth Social video, stating that 2026 would be a celebration of America like no other and that a public-private partnership called Freedom 250 had been created to carry out the plans.
Freedom 250 is a non-partisan subsidiary of the National Park Foundation whose activities are largely overseen by top Trump aides, Cnn reported.
It can maintain donor anonymity and is not overseen by a bipartisan panel. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum stated in May 2026 that Freedom 250 is run out of the White House and only the organization can decide to reveal its donors. Congressional Democrats are investigating Freedom 250's funding.
Federal records show $65 million has been sent to the National Park Foundation for distribution to Freedom 250, while America250 has received $25 million of the $150 million Congress allocated in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Freedom 250 lists about two dozen sponsors on its website, including Palantir, Lockheed Martin, Oracle, Ultimate Fighting Championship and Penske Corp.
A UFC fight is scheduled on the White House lawn in June 2026 and an IndyCar race is set for August.
Freedom 250 CEO Keith Krach stated that the group is all about accountability and transparency and that an important part of his role is to manage the books and get the biggest bang for the buck. Freedom 250 organized a Christianity-focused prayer event on the National Mall in May 2026.
