The National Immigration Service ended OIS Services' role handling submissions at Nigerian visa centres in the United States. Applicants must now file directly with the embassy in Washington or consulates in New York and Atlanta.
news.sky.comNigeria's National Immigration Service suspended Online Integrated Solutions from operating the country's visa application centres in the United States effective July 2026 until further notice, AllAfrica reported. Residents of the US seeking Nigerian visas must now submit applications directly to the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC, or the consulates in New York and Atlanta.
The service issued the announcement in a statement on Thursday.
It did not state a reason for the suspension or indicate when the arrangement would be reviewed. The suspension applies only to visa application submissions handled by OIS Services and leaves Nigeria's electronic visa system unchanged. Travellers seeking e-Visas must continue to use the official e-Visa portal.
The National Immigration Service said it has put measures in place to ensure seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas. Applicants were advised to monitor official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates.
The change follows by several months a partial US visa ban on Nigeria that covers B-1, B-2, B-1/B-2, F, M and J categories, AllAfrica reported.
The United States also imposed bond requirements of up to $15,000 on applicants from African countries for other visa categories.
