prnewswire.comThe National Pension Commission, PenCom, has launched a free healthcare program for retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme who receive monthly pensions of N70,000 or less. The program, called PenCare, is designed to improve healthcare access and reduce medical costs for low-income retirees. The pilot phase is limited to retirees aged 60 and older.
PenCom stated that registration is now open and that only 30,000 eligible pensioners will be accepted in the first phase on a first-come, first-served basis. Retirees can register by scanning a barcode in national newspapers or by visiting the PenCom website and participating Pension Fund Administrator sites.
The commission described the program as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts to support the health and well-being of pensioners across Nigeria. Officials said the initiative addresses healthcare challenges faced by retirees with limited income.
