Nike, Adidas and Puma Supply Recycled and Standard Kits for 2026 World Cup Teams

Nike designed uniform kits for the 2026 World Cup for France, Brazil, the United States and Canada, Fortune reported. The company engineered a new fabric made from fully recycled materials that is more breathable, with mesh stitching in areas to improve air flow and thermal regulation.

Phil McCartney, chief innovation, design and product officer for Nike, said the designs merged input from athletes, coaches, federations and fans with testing data.

McCartney told The Associated Press. ” Testing occurred at Nike’s sports research lab outside Portland, Oregon, which includes a 200-meter track, a small football pitch, a basketball court and hundreds of motion-capture cameras. Thermal chambers assessed breathability, wicking and moisture management on athletes and robot mannequins.

“We take motion-capture to see how they’re moving in the kit, how the kits are responding,” McCartney said. Adidas designed jerseys for Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. Puma designed kits for Portugal, Morocco and Senegal.

Nike identified bulges in shoulder seams on France and Uruguay jerseys during earlier matches and worked with federations to correct the issue before the tournament.
