Nintendo Direct Gives Switch 2 Release Dates Through 2026, Confirming Sparse Lineup and Price Hike
The 50-minute presentation and 95-minute Treehouse Live event detailed launch windows for Fire Emblem, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and other titles through October.

Nintendo held its Direct presentation on June 9, 2026 at 10AM ET, running for roughly 50 minutes and followed by a 95-minute Nintendo Treehouse: Live session. The showcase listed release dates for several Switch 2 titles. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will arrive on September 17 for Switch 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches October 9 on the same platform. One Piece: Grand Gourmet releases October 23 on both Switch and Switch 2. Additional titles received dates. Star Fox launches June 25 for Switch 2.
Rhythm Heaven Groove arrives July 2 for Switch and is playable on Switch 2. Splatoon Raiders and the Final Fantasy X / X-2 remaster both launch July 23 on Switch 2. Devil May Cry 5 releases June 23 for Switch 2.
Big Walk launches August 4 on Switch 2, PS5, and Steam. Pokopia will receive a free update in August that adds underwater spaces, along with the first installment of a paid expansion pass. Nintendo Switch Online members gained access on June 9 to new challenges in Donkey Kong games, available through September 1.
A new trailer released during the Direct showed four main characters and story elements. Rhythm Heaven Groove includes an RPG-style battle mode and multiplayer games.
Big Walk is a proximity chat-based co-op game developed by the studio behind Untitled Goose Game. The next Pokémon game is scheduled for 2027. The Direct followed a week of announcements from PlayStation, Xbox, and other publishers.
Nintendo had previously announced the June 9 event on June 8.
