Noah Hawley, an Emmy-winning creator of FX's Fargo and Alien: Earth, will direct and produce a reimagining of the 2017 Argentine supernatural horror film Terrified for Warner Bros. Deadline has confirmed the involvement. The original film, directed by Demian Rugna, follows a team of paranormal investigators examining inexplicable events in a Buenos Aires neighborhood.

Terrified, known as Aterrados in Spanish, uncovers a malevolent force during the investigation. The remake develops in close collaboration with Rugna, who also directed the 2023 IFC and Shudder film When Evil Lurks. Hawley will produce the project through his Austin-based company, 26 Keys.

Hawley created, showran, executive produced, wrote and directed FX's anthology series Fargo, based on the Coen Brothers film. The series has received 70 Emmy nominations and won seven awards across five seasons. More recently, Hawley created, wrote and showran Alien: Earth, a series expanding the Alien franchise, with its first season released on Hulu and FX in August 2023 and a second season planned.
