North Korea Rejects Quad Call for Complete Denuclearization

North Korea on Thursday denounced a joint statement issued Tuesday by the foreign ministers of the United States, Australia, Japan and India that called for the complete denuclearization of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The statement was released after the ministers met in New Delhi as part of the Quad grouping.

North Korea's foreign ministry said the four nations took issue with the North's legitimate exercise of sovereignty.

"We once again say there will never, ever be any denuclearization of the DPRK," a ministry spokesperson said. U.S. unipolar dominance. North Korea called on the Quad to stop what it termed the pursuit of confrontation that undermines regional peace and stability.

It said it flatly rejects the grouping's hostile stance against Pyongyang. The Quad ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea in the Tuesday statement.
